CAN-U-CRUISE, Can Help A Community!

SEPT. 25th, 6-9 p.m. -

Whether you have a classic car or a custom bike, or just like to look, this cruise night hosted by the Lake Garnett Cruisers is a "must see" event. The cruisers are hoping to fill a car trailer full of donated canned goods, box items (mac 'n cheese, etc.) and paper products to benefit the Garnett Area Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry (a/k/a... EMPTY Pantry!). Donations will be accepted by everyone, whether a "cruiser" or not. However, those bringing their classic or custom hotrods and motorcycles will be vying for some door prizes and some cash prizes, and a real cruise will take place to area nursing homes and around Lake Garnett. See the Lake Garnett Cruisers website, http://www.lakegarnettcruisers.com/ for specifics.

The cruise night is a kick-off event to Cornstock 2009. One of the fastest growing and most original festivals in Eastern Kansas, Cornstock includes a fantastic outdoor concert on the cheap (3 bands for only $25; $20 in advance). This year's featured entertainment is Diamond Rio. Did you know Diamond Rio is releasing a new album and a book about the band? Due out Tuesday, September 22nd, just days before Cornstock (September 26).

Garnett, Kansas has a new blog!

It's a beautiful day to walk the Prairie Spirit Trail in Garnett, Kansas!

It's a "garage saler's" paradise this weekend as more than 33 homes and businesses participate in the Fall City Wide Garage Sale Day this Saturday, September 19th! Unique, hard to find items at the right price can be yours only if you're in Garnett this Saturday.

If you live in Garnett, now is the time to clean out the nooks and crannies in and around your home. Items you wish to discard can be placed curbside or alley way for pick-up during City Wide Clean-Up Week, September 21-25. Please, please... Help city crews by placing items in seperate piles; steel with steel, paper with paper... Let's not mix that yard waste or "clean-up" items with your normal weekly trash.
